The Michaelson family rolls into a remote campsite in their RV. Wendy goes for supplies and Paul is distracted by an attractive camper. That’s when Taylor, their daughter, goes missing. Having little confidence in local police, they take things into their own hands. If you like twists . . .

This is the sort of film which should not be discussed too much so as to avoid giving the game away. It is a bit like ‘I See You’ (2019) (Film Finds, Issue 1) in that respect although not really in that league. The vanished starts off in a rather humdrum way and follows a rather standard plotline. A child disappears, the parents get police to help and, unimpressed with police efforts, they conduct their own search. It did not win any awards but is a solid and engaging enough little thriller which ultimately delivers. It should be pointed out that nothing unpleasant happens to the daughter. Understandably, the fear around child disappearance plotlines can be a reason why many viewers don’t watch some films.
